The farthest I have travelled from my place is Kullu-Manali.

Kullu and Manali are popular tourist destinations in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. These two towns are often referred to together because they are located close to each other and offer similar attractions. Here’s an overview of what Kullu and Manali are like:

1. Scenic Beauty: Kullu and Manali are known for their stunning natural beauty. The region is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys, and pristine rivers. The Beas River flows through this area, adding to its picturesque charm.
2. Adventure Activities: These towns are a paradise for adventure enthusiasts. You can indulge in activities such as trekking, paragliding, white-water rafting, skiing (during the winter season), and camping. Solang Valley, near Manali, is a hub for adventure sports.
3. Temples and Monasteries: There are several temples and monasteries in the Kullu-Manali region, including the Hidimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, and various Buddhist monasteries. These are not only places of worship but also offer architectural and cultural insights.
4. Rohtang Pass: Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass located about 51 kilometers from Manali. It’s a popular attraction known for its snow-covered landscapes (especially during the winter months) and offers breathtaking views.
5. Old Manali: Old Manali has a unique charm with its narrow lanes, quaint cafes, and traditional Himachali architecture. It’s a great place to explore and relax.
6. Shopping: You can shop for local handicrafts, woollen clothing, and souvenirs in the local markets of Kullu and Manali. Don’t forget to buy some Kullu shawls and Himachali caps.
7. Climate: The climate in Kullu and Manali varies throughout the year. Summers (April to June) are pleasant, making it an ideal time for tourism. Winters (December to February) are cold and often see heavy snowfall, making it a popular destination for winter sports.
